Almost two weeks ago, ward Congresses were held across the one hundred and five wards in Bayelsa state, conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to elect new ward executives of the party.
Another Congress is brewing to be conducted this weekend by the PDP family but this time around, the Congress is a Local Government Congress, which is meant to usher in new local government executives for the party at the ward level.
Governor Douye Diri, in an expanded meeting with the leadership of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and party faithfuls, charged the party to reciprocate what they achieved at the last ward Congresses without rancour to the forthcoming Local Government Congress coming up this weekend.
Saying the party has stayed strong and united this past years, owing to her forthrightness, and the vision of her leaders and elders, who had instituted the policy of inclusiveness of participation, were all her teeming supporters and party faithfuls would be formally and functionally carried along.
While charging the party leadership, ably led by Pastor Moses Cleopas, to not rest on his oars, but to keep reaching more enviable heights, in the steering of the PDP ship, in the state.
Extolling the state PDP Chairman, Governor Douye Diri said, under the direction and supervision of Pastor Moses Cleopas, the State PDP had grown from strength to strength.
Winning almost all the election battles at the polls, and God being by him as a pastor, the unimaginable has happened to this great party, that has produce great men and women, who had turned the misfortunes of the country and state into fortunes.
The miracle Governor, as he prefers to be called, is hundred percent certain that the State PDP under the capacity and staunch leadership of Pastor Moses Cleopas, will get it right again this weekend, as the party is set to conduct her Local Government Congress for the purpose of electing new executive members at the local government level.
The confident governor, who has been up and doing, since he assumed office miraculously as the governor of Bayelsa State, had charged the party executives and faithful, saying he is seeing better days ahead for the party and for Bayelsans in general and that nobody should be weary; that there is abundance of light at the end of the tunnel for all.
Thus, he sues for a peaceful Local Government Congress across the eight Local Government Areas of the state, even as he charges the party leadership to achieve similar result she achieved, at the last Ward Congress a fortnight ago.
